EU hates dictators so much that we financially support them and copy them with invasive digital laws.

“The European Union has paid Russia for energy and oil imports $142 billion more than it has provided to Ukraine in aid”
There is a difference between buying energy all Europeans need and AID.

Did it? I bet they didn’t bother to deduct the costprice
Still, we should’ve gotten off russian energy much faster, and just forced countries that didnt want to. But this is probably just all the money added up from energy sales, without bothering to deduct the cost price. And comparing that number to the aid given to Ukraine.

Trump said it in his first term and everyone laughed at him. I’m no trump fan. But European leaders arrogance is something else

Regardless of the exact figures, it’s clear that Europe’s long-term challenge is reducing strategic dependencies while still supporting partners in ways that are meaningful and sustainable.

Ukraine got it for free. So its not the same. But if anyone have problem with that it can turn off heating for next three months or pay double. I bet 99% will be quiet.

I fully agree we should aid Ukraine more and cut the money flow to Russia. There’s one thing I’d like to see discussed though, every time when this conversation emerges. EU is not a country. It’s a union of 27 independent countries, That should not be forgotten when criticising the actions of “EU”. We happen to have some countries that seem to be on the side of Russia, and if I understand correctly, one of them – Hungary – is one of the biggest buyers from Russia. But what is the exact amount and percentage? What would the numbers be if we exclude pro-Russian countries from them? And can EU as a whole be blamed for the actions of these countries?

Russia already robbing their own population with increased price, taxes, fuel cost, import taxes for everything and etc.
Found a courage and admit it, the only real reason why they doing what they doing – EU greed for *cheap* gas and oil since 2014.
