Like most people I know, I haven’t got a car. There’s nowhere to keep one and rents are so high that there’s little left over to pay for one. Every single Christmas/New Year for years has been ruined by strikes. I have enormous resentment against the union at this point.

The people whose holidays are being ruined are those too old to drive and the renting generations. I.e., those with zero power to do anything about pay and conditions for rail workers. No one cares if our holidays are ruined yet again.

If the unions actually wanted action, they would strike during the working week when well-paid people need to get to work in London.

Why is this still going on? I worked at Tesco we we’re one of the best paid supermarkets. Then we become one of the worst with only just above minimum wage. We we’re basically told if you don’t like it leave. Why is this not happening with trains?
