‘In practice, the S Group product range has only included a small number of such items, as it has not sold fruit or vegetables of Israeli origin for some time.’
Netanyahu’s mostsad are sharpening their knives in anticipation – I doubt.

I guess its their money, so their choice where to buy from.

It’s worth noting that S-Group is a co-operative, owned by its customers. This is literally about half of the Finnish population.

Former leader of the Christian Democrats, Päivi Räsänen, compared this move by the retailer to the legal boycotts of jewish businesses by the The Nazi party.

This move will undoubtedly have economic and symbolic consequences. Retailers rarely stop selling goods without strong motivation, so it’s a sign that Finland’s public discourse and customer expectations around this issue have reached a tipping point.

It’s not a big deal tbh.
Israel’s not exactly a food exporting powerhouse. This is a pretty negligible impact.

Can anyone tell me one single Israeli product they sell?
This year, I can only remember having seen an Israeli product at one of the large German retailers once: Sacks of potatoes on a weekly sale.
Ok, some Sodastream devices are also made in Israel. I guess, this will be the one product they actually remove from their shelves. That’s what “home carbonation products” likely refers to.
Every member of the coop donating even just 1-5 Euro to aid for Palestine would have achieved much more. But, as usual, this is not about actually helping people, but performative moral grandstanding.
Edit: Btw, you don’t have to believe me. They seem to offer delivery, so you can check their current offerings online https://www.s-kaupat.fi/ I highly doubt Finland of all places is used to an outsized amount of Israeli food products on sale.
