      Interesting trivia about London, we have no idea where the name came from (other than obviously Londinium). There are dozens of modern theories, but they essentially all boil down to ‘this old word sounds a bit like London, so maybe thats it’.

      Some believe it might have come from the original pre-Roman settlement that we know nothing about, but we have absolutely no fucking idea.

      Fun factors. London is made from city of London in border very similar to the 
      Roman Londinium and the greater London. legally those are very separate things

    8. Everytime I see (Roman) London, it comes to my mind that Thessaloniki used to be the “London” of the byzantine empire and I don’t know how to deal with how irrelevant Thessaloniki has become 😔
