      yeah…
need a source otherwise it’s just pissing in the wind.

The demilitarization demands by the US are absurd, especially as they want Ukraine to give up its Donbas fortress belt, which would pave the way for a rapid further Russian advance. And normally it’s the aggressor that loses territory and is demilitarized. So they actually turned that upside down!

Putin wants Trump to secure for him what Russia’s army cannot. It’s a critical moment; Russian casualty numbers are huge but irrelevant. If Kyiv falls (eventually), Moscow would gain millions of conscripts and vast resources. A massive threat for the rest of Europe as well.

    3. Ok. This actually sounds like a plan not written by putins bitch

    4. veleso91 on

Very realistic plan, that perfectly reflects the situation on the battlefield. Putin should immediately surrender or face the fury of EU bureaucrats!

Until there is a serious, credible plan to finance Ukraine, all of this is just empty theatre

    6. niemacotuwpisac on

It’s good that there is some counterweight to the Russian plan.

      >no territorial concessions

Those are up for discussion, as written in this proposal.

One side wants a tea, other wants a vodka. Looks like there’ll be no compromise

Great, now how do we plan to stand our ground, and defend our plan vs USA/Russia’s?

Are we going to stand for what we support or hastily retreat the moment the US threatens tarriffs/military withdrawal/other consequences because our politicians and civilians aren’t willing to take the hit?

    10. Raz0rking on

I aint a fan of point 17 but it needs to be realistic unfortunately.

Pie in the sky – there’s nothing in here for Russia besides possible retractment of sanctions. I’m pro-Ukraine but I just don’t see what Russia gains from this.

    12. heyitsmemaya on

NATO will never happen. I get you put some things in just to make it a discussion point but this one will immediately deem the plan unrealistic, even though the headline says something different from the actual wording of “depends on consensus within the Alliance”

Nice waste of time, the true is that this war will keep going until at least 2027.

    14. Damaged_DM on

Better than Trumo surrender plan, but atill written by little bitches, as if Russia is not conducting and active war against EU and NATO members as we speak

    15. Mob_Killer on

Why would Russia agree to this instead of just continuing the war ?

    16. As better as this is from the US “plan”. This is not a basis for peace, but a postponement of hostilities.

    17. The beginning is fine, but it ends on a fart note. It doesn’t change anything for better for Russia compared to just fighting it out – just says “stop where you are and take some additional obligations”. I wonder what is the “or else” part – thoughts and prayers or some real action that Russia will consider as worse than this plan?

    18. 50_61S-----165_97E on

So basically the complete opposite of Trumps plan / Putin’s wishlist

    19. shatureg on

Great. Now let’s make one thing clear: This is *not* Ukraine being difficult. This is the bare minimum Ukraine should demand. Given everything Russia has done, I’d consider this plan “getting away with it”, anyway. Don’t let the propagandists shift the narrative.

    20. goldstarflag on

Ukrainians could’ve left for Paris! Instead they hold the line for all of Europe, bearing this unbearable burden alone, losing their best and brightest as our national leaders are still frozen in their petty national US vassal posture—for lack of a better term. I am so grateful. We are forever in their debt.

    21. tree_boom on

This is at least not insane, but it also is not going to be acceptable. Realistically there’s no chance of Russia agreeing to pay reparations or returning anything they’ve stolen. as a starting point it’s an improvement over Trump’s bullshit.

    22. Armodeen on

This is a just and fair peace settlement. No way Russia would agree to anything like it. The only way this war ends is collapse of the Russian regime or collapse of the front in either direction.

    23. CmdrAirdroid on

Why are they wasting their time on this when Russia obviously won’t accept that plan. Russia won’t just suddenly give up on their objectives unless they’re forced to, but Europe is not acting strongly enough to be able to make demands like this. You can’t just sit around and demand them to surrender.

    24. Neither_Guava_8292 on

      Europe has balls.

Next time an American mocks Europeans for surrending I’ll show them this

    25. Funny how “tomorrow” in a possible US Venezuela attack the EU will say nothing…

    26. trtmrtzivotnijesmrt on

      Talk about wishfull thinking.
We need concrete plans, not dreams.

Don’t get me wrong – I would love these to actually come true, but there is no way Russia is going to accept those, especially because Europe and Ukraine don’t have that negotiating power. The only country that really does have it is the USA and their plan is polar opposite to this one.

If EU officials were smart for a change, they would’ve found a middle ground between the USA’s plan and this one – then it could potentially work.
