“The event will take place on 21 August in a different location across the country each year, with the first held in 2026, the Home Office has said.
It comes after a campaign by families and survivors, including those affected by the Westminster Bridge and Manchester arena attacks.”
This seems like a great initiative as our country has endured a lot of terrorist related trauma in past decades. Hopefully, this gives some peace and closure to the victims & their families.

So just another day for your corporate support team to add to the calendar and scheduled all staff email. Not even a bank holiday.

So, this could become a mid august focal point for right-wing facism? Interesting to see if it controls the narrative when government is off, because for the last few years, russian dis-info bots and reform have run a mock during the summer months.

Not to take away from the seriousness of terrorism, but can we have a day to remember the victims of Brexit? Also those businesses that went under and employees who were made redundant after Brexit crippled the British economy.

Hope they sell a new flavour of poppy, but make it a plane with some paint splattered on it.

It would be interesting how this would be “comemmorated” without addressing the obviously massive elephant in the room.
This is the sort of event you’d expect Russia to hold in the context of Chechnya or the Donbass pre-2022, where death would be commemorated in the context of maintaining support for a military campaign…

Another day for nutters to spew some negative narrative about foreigners no doubt.

And one day there will be another day to celebrate the day when the terrorists got deported, after decades of civil war.
