I find it kind of crazy how little attention many people pay to stuff like this, and is probably why too many landlords and agencies get away (or at least think they can) with a lot of the crap they do.
I mean it’s only your rights to the roof over your head. Not like important or anything!
Most of it’s not that complex and is already pretty well documented on sites like Shelter and Citizens Advice.
Normally this sort of stuff would have been covered in the media but they are too busy saying labour isn’t doing anything. Can’t explain this law without accepting labour are following a legislative plan as set out in a kings speech.
You know what used to help with getting important information out there? Quick PSA’s.
WHY AREN’T THEY DOING THAT.
Labors social media pages (tiktok, Instagram and the rest) have been in overdrive anouncing this. That no one knows lies flatly at the feet of the media choosing to report on the other things.
I flat out disagree that they could be doing more to let people know. It feels like this massive consipiracy from all sides (including the guardian! Which i am massively disappointed by) to bury any, and all good news coming from this goverment.
