Spero che diventi chiaro quale fosse il loro obiettivo fin dall’inizio. Anche se ogni armeno rimanesse nelle zone occupate di Stepanakert e Artsakh, utilizzerebbe ogni mezzo disponibile per reinsediare gli azeri e cambiare i dati demografici della regione proprio come fecero nell’era sovietica. Se ciò sta effettivamente accadendo, allora le immagini satellitari che mostrano numerosi complessi di appartamenti con oggetti gettati fuori dagli appartamenti e stesi per strada sono state probabilmente realizzate in preparazione all’alloggio di queste persone. Cercare di cambiare la demografia di una regione, rubare la proprietà privata delle persone, buttare via tutti i loro averi e reinsediare le case con il proprio gruppo etnico è pulizia etnica. Non c’è modo di contestarlo. Ogni armeno e il governo armeno dovrebbero protestare contro questo utilizzando ogni metodo disponibile.

They will of course, but the decision to do so is completely political. They always promote things like this on the official channels, but Azeri journalists and opposition figures in exile share details that contradict. Example is how almost half of the people relocated to Berdzor have left because there is no work. Ultimately, their project in Artsakh will need to be subsidized forever even if the oil money doesn’t last forever. Construction and development contracts are given to friends of the regime as rewards for loyalty with no oversight which amount to kickbacks. Their goal of relocating will cost nearly $20 billion to achieve and who knows how much more to maintain. I have a feeling that it will be a huge drag to the detriment of the entire country in the long term.
If we had international peacekeepers, with extreme autonomy at first, Azeris could not bring more people than they had prior to the breakup of the USSR, so the ratio had to stay the same.
