  1. This should also apply to electricity contracts.

What is the deal with guaranteed annual price increases in telecoms contracts? Meanwhile I’ve got Gomo for 9.99 forever

It will make no difference. They will just raise the original price of the plan beforehand.

I went into a 24 month contract a few years ago with Vodafone because I needed a new phone. 60 a month, I knew it was high but I could manage it ok.
2 price increases in 24 month’s, I was paying 70 a month for the last 9 months of my contract.
Approx 200 euro more than the original contract I signed up to.

I bought a phone SIM free and now I’m on payg. I will never enter a contract again with any of these parasitic companies.

This is a no brainer and completely logical. Should apply to ANY subscription service. It should not be acceptable to rise fees without some good reason. And never inside contract. End the 1st year discount, 2nd year rip off bullshit.

Well, there is already work around for that. At least with Vodafone. When signing up for the contract, they say they will increase the prices every April by some percentage (I believe now it’s specific amount).

So you get in a contract, few months later your price is increased by few euros, and you have to suck it up because it’s already mentioned in the contract.

So if provider says they will raise the price every X month for X amount, it will be all legal.

I think the whole 12 months at “half price” is bs… if the majority of people change supplier for these “half price” rates each year effectively the people who don’t change suppliers are being gouged to support the free TV / game console offers for new customers…
