**Good News in Difficult Times**
Our tiny Asian deer, Mo, is successfully recovering from a severe injury sustained during the night shelling of Kyiv on November 14. The surgery went well, and he is now steadily improving.
Kyiv Nature Park director Kyrylo Trantyn: “The most critical week is already behind us. The postoperative period went smoothly, and with each passing day, confidence grows that Mo will fully recover.”
That night, Kyiv suffered a barbaric missile and drone strike. The blast wave also hit part of the Kyiv Nature Park, damaging windows and structures. Minor injuries were sustained by a spur-thighed tortoise and a caiman crocodile, who received immediate care.
Mo was hit the hardest: he suffered a severe head injury with a fractured lower jaw. His chances of survival were only 50/50, but thanks to timely surgery and the professional care of the veterinarians, the little deer’s life was saved.
Mo is now undergoing rehabilitation, receiving necessary medications and treatments, and is on a special soft diet: soaked grain mix, softened alfalfa pellets, and chopped hay.
We wish our brave little patient a speedy recovery!
