He should have thought about the money, blood, and distrust that would sow in our society. We didn’t collapse after Iraq and Afghanistan like the soviets, but it changed our society forever. We could no longer tell ourselves we were the good guys. We weren’t. We were scumbags just like all the other scumbags of the world. It caused a psyche shift in the population. Made us question everything.

Bens lived in Germany for many years now and doesn’t have good grasp on the headwinds in America. We don’t want to be the world police anymore, we don’t want to be the country that is taking on everyone elses enemies, we don’t want to be funding all these foreign conflicts.

If our politicians could have kept things at home better, we would all feel differently. But politicians have a way of fucking everything up.
