Conscripts aren’t going to work for free, they will expect to be paid.
So where is the money for this expansion going to come from? Reducing spending on equipment? Cutting pensions or welfare?
Russia cannot take on NATO by itself, they don’t have enough strength and if you believe they would even invade a nato country I doubt your reasoning
It hasn’t been officially announced yet, and it’s not quite clear exactly how it’s going to work. It sounds like volunteers will be paid to act as part time soldiers. Which makes sense, since a lot of people don’t join the army because it takes them away from their families for too long in distant seas or foreign lands. If you just want a “homeland defence” type of force, this makes more sense.
What’s the difference between voluntary service and what they have now?
Military service on a voluntary basis? Isn’t that what there is already?
