I would be keen to know what not meeting the test for prosecution on evidential grounds means here exactly. There are mentions of new evidential developments. Big difference between whether this is a lack of evidence (as is often the case with these sorts of crimes) or whether new evidence has come to light
Edit: have read this could also be a witness withdrawing, although in this case I presume that could only be the victim, but it says the PSNI have informed them of the decision.

Considering the history of cover ups/incompetence in scenarios like this, they really should be very specific on why it’s been dropped to avoid riots.
The mad part is that the difficulty in getting prosecutions of rape is something feminists have highlighted for years.
Somehow, I don’t see the Ballymena rioters organising themselves and pushing for reform here…
