Before writing this off as ‘Tories shout at cloud’, it looks to be a fairly well-founded suggestion.
This is a basic summary of the story:

The media has spent the last month talking about the Black hole and what is Reeves going to do. Were they all lying about it after all?
Why do we insist on the word misleading.
She lied – her boss lied – the whole of the front bench lied.
I see no reason not to call them out directly and specifically for what they are and have done.
Get these clowns out of power before they ruin the country
Should be a resignation matter. If a Tory chancellor did something equivalent Labour would absolutely be calling for them to resign.
Shocking but expected from the Benefits Party. She needs to go.
Really? I would of never guessed. The black hole was caused by furlough payments which both party’s backed. Billions paid to people to keep their bills paid.
As Maggie once said, socialism only works until you’ve ran out of other people’s money.
Sorry but it’s been a thing from the beginning of time, the only ones who usually vote Labour are the ones who used to live off the catalogue in the 80s. Am I a cunt? Probably
so she is accused of exaggerating how bad the public finances were in order to justify tax rises. but weren’t we hearing nothing but how terrible the public finances are and how this proved the rank incompetence of the government’s economic management? isn’t it actually quite good news that things aren’t as bad as thought? and what should she have done to raise taxes enough to create fiscal headroom – said “actually, things are fine guys”? a small surplus doesn’t mean that there was no need to raise taxes.
when they can’t attack the budget they attack the Chancellor.
Up next year …
Reeves eats a sandwich during a press conference indicating “I’m going to take a bite out of your pensions”.
A week later Reeves U-turns on this tax rising proposal by blinking “safe” in morse code in an interview with the BBC.
The gilt markets go wild.
Robert Peston questions whether Reeves in fact an undercover bond vigilante and has learned how to insider trade just like Nancy Pelosi and Donald Trump in the States.
I don’t know why anyone is surprised that Labour are taking more (at record levels) and spending more. It’s what they do. Remember: every single Labour government has left power with unemployment higher than when they started.
It appears thw govt including chancellor have tried to move the country in right direction. Insrea of randomly reacting to everything, sometime people actually have to take time to realise that collectively we have to take the brunt to help country progress, and more importantly help people who actually need help.
Everybody knows we are broke except Kemi Badenoch apparently. She was part of the Tory govt that got us into this mess and a Brexiteer to boot.
Utterly abysmal from Chancellor. It just a downward spiral
Wasn’t it the media who constantly harped on about how bad the budget would be? Then they blame her for lying about it?
Plans changed because the forecast for productivity was not as bad as people thought it would be. That’s all. End of myth. No lying or anything like that. The media really like spouting any old doom and gloom shit to keep people lapping up their empty journalism.
