      People have been mounting hunting trophies for years, what makes this particularly unhinged and deranged is to do it in a public parkland and leave the rest of the body, usually hunters would also consume/sell the meat. Maybe I missed it in the article, but I assume they must’ve shot the deer in a public space?

      Whoever did this needs looking into, obviously a few screws loose.

      This is so sad. My family were all hunters when I was growing up and why I don’t take part myself we were all taught you only killing what you are going to use/eat etc. To do this for a trophy is so sad.

      Souless cunt would only have to wait another few months and the deer would naturally shed their antlers if they cared to even know a thing about deer. Psychopath shit.

      I understand the outcry over this but sadly this not new behaviour, leaving aside the hunters mounting crap on walls for centuries. A few years ago my brother found bags thrown along the roadside and in the gateway of land he rented. Inside he found deer skin and bones, he thought it was dead dogs or something. It was 2 to 3 black bags of stuff. He had to call the Garda station and council. Someone from wildlife protection came out as well. The type of deer are not even in this part of the country.

      He had to stop people from lamping on his land, gun hunters wandering around and he stops the hunt from accessing his land full stop. He says that even though there are people from different ends of the wealth spectrum involved, they always plead innocent and then threaten.

      He likes the wildlife around the farm but would not be classed as nature lover, but he hates hunters.

      The worst part is you don’t even need to kill a deer to get antlers. You can head out into the woods and pick them up if you’re lucky because it’s a yearly shed. If you even headed to a National Park and got into contact with a Ranger you might get lucky and be let know of spots where you can forage.

      Sick, sick individual. We have a dwindling Red Deer stock as it is without eejits like this reducing them for wasted kills here.

      Dreadful altogether.
