Cancer patients and other people in similar situations are often very much looking for solutions to issues and can get very easily pulled in by these kinds of persuasive characters. A lot of them also genuinely believe their own nonsense no matter how unscientific it is, which is why they can be extremely convincing.

Add social media, and you get a big platform for peddling utter nonsense.

It also does a lot of damage by crowding out real and solidly scientific and sensible advice that’s out there too.

I have two cancers diagnosed. Both very early. One treated successfully and another that was very low but the latest tests have indicated a rapid increase, but I think it’ll be very treatable.

At no point would I consider any charlatans magic.
So I have to wonder how someone could believe in this non science stuff.

I mean, cancer treatments are researched amongst multiple human experts, peer reviewed, how do people come to a conclusion that someone with no equivalent information is what they should follow?
