Actually, the current plans for the metro are only a fraction of what’s needed.

They don’t go to the same place. Sure there’s a road to Cork, why would you want one to Galway as well?

Majority of the city is begging for fast reliable public transport. These people will have links to two of the best public transport lines in the city and they are not happy. WTF.

The listing of names and going to ask their opinions is the type of journalism that was needed here. If you’re going to publicly declare your opposition and hold up critical infrastructure that the vast majority of the public want, you should be able to stand over it.

Sounds like some people have too much time on their hands. I’d just exclude the stop and just go through it.

The first TD/Party to publicly tell these clowns to fuck off gets my vote next time.

At busy times its impossible to get on at the current stop. Proving the need for more public transport in the area

  8. A handful of people like this shouldn’t be allowed to stand in the way of such vital and necessary infrastructure.

We’re one of the few countries in Europe without a metro system for crying out loud and day in, day out Dublin is in absolute gridlock.

It’s the bare minimum of what we need to be honest.

  9. These nimbys are going to love it when round 2 of construction begins to connect the metro line between Charlemont and the Green Luas Line.

  10. I’m from Ranelagh and I despise these fuckers. They think they’re part of some kind of Irish aristocracy just because they had the wherewithal to buy a place at a opportune times. These selfish fuckers do not represent us.

Fkn Southsiders. The North side where most of industry is in Dublin has nothing.

Don’t ask the opinion of morons. Just say this is it and build the fucking thing. If it serves people then ignore objections

The 3 most damaging form of vandalism you can do in Ireland is needlessly hold up critical infrastructure, destroy nature, and let buildings go derelict.

Sadly this government lets these types of vandals do whatever they like

One of these people is going to run for office aren’t they?!

Backwards ass thinking will stop us from growing in the next few decades while the coffin dodging objectors keep blocking public transport infrastructure.

YOU guys have a Luas. The residents of Sword don’t.

  17. playathree on

These people are such dopey cunts. They are also the reason the green line isn’t being upgraded to a metro passed charlemont

  18. Electronic_Nature293 on

I’m sorry but as someone who takes the green line basically everyday, when I get on at my stop it’s pretty busy, so by the time I get to Ranelagh the Luas is absolutely packed at peak times. It’s gotten pretty chaotic recently as well. There is absolutely a need for metro in Ranelagh to take some pressure off of the Luas

While a financial risk will put off a lot of people it won’t stop it, we really need a ln alternative to the slow processes today or to ban them which seems anti democratic in some ways but infrastructure like this will be in place for 100+ years and carry millions of people in that time and we’re allowing a small few stop of delay it by decades.. crazy
