When US will fight China, EU should pause, let them rethink their geopolitics.

Nothing new.
Washington is ran by delusional idiots who can’t see reality, don’t know history and buy into Putin propaganda, this is US problem not EU problem
War criminal detected, opinion rejected
He men’s Trump can’t monetize Europe for his own enrichment?
Shut their tech companies out. Tax the ever living fuck out Amazon, Meta and Google and watch them come squirming then.
Frustratingly it won’t happen
Well, he’s right. We’ll just follow whatever orders the US gives.
Better than corrupt and untrustworthy.
Warning: Title is misleading … The current administration sees Europe as inconsequential.
Europe has to be self-confidant and also need to get the political will to do more, because together witb Ukraine it could stop the Russians.
Three more years of this administration.
What does modern Europe offer America?
The EU fines American companies, puts up trade barriers to American goods, is militarily weak, has outright stated it doesn’t want to help in a war against China, and Western Europe didn’t perceive Russia as a threat until it was too late.
Like…what is America getting out of the relationship?
>“It is unusual but that’s part of the problem,” Hodges noted, adding that under the current administration’s list of priorities, “Europe is number four” behind the western hemisphere, the Indo-Pacific and the Middle East.
The General confirmed that there’s first the home security, then the one of Taiwan, so fundamental for the high technology corporations, then Israel of course, then the rest of the world with some preference for the NATO allies.
It was just a confirmation.
Washington has fallen.
I’m not convinced these kind of statements are anything more than rage bait. In both nominal and PPP terms, the EU+UK make up the second largest economy on earth (25 trillion nominal and 34 trillion in PPP, larger than the US even).
On top of that, they are the only ‘region’ coming anywhere close to US military spending (roughly $500 billion in nominal terms, more than Russia & China combined) and about $680 billion in PPP terms (similar to China) and **far** more than Russia ($425 billion PPP).
Other fun facts about how inconsequential Europe is;
* Just 5? European countries made up 26% of global arms exports, the US is 43% and Russia is 7% whilst China is 5%.
* The EU/UK have a manufacturing output currently 10% larger than even the US, making it the second largest in the world.
* Europe still has 20% more wealth than all of China, despite having almost 1 billion less people.
* Europe has 16% more active military personnel than the US, and reserves are insane – the US has 800,000 whilst Europe has roughly 1.2 million (both of these numbers exclude Ukraine).
Europe has already stopped Russia in Ukraine, they’re demonstrating that economical sanctions are way more powerful than military engagement. And China is learning from it to assess the economical cost to take Taiwan once the US and Europe decide to apply to them as retailation. China’s economy is way more dependant from globablization than Russia.
The concern isn’t about if Europe can do more military speaking vs Russia, it is about what will become of Russia political grip once their economy completely fall apart. And their capacity to target European countries because even if their economy is down the drain and the political succession not clear, their military will still continue to exist and might go rogue on war on their borders.
Wonder how much he got paid to say this 😆
Time to cut ties with USA, if we are inconsequential surely they wont mind being alone in the world. Or rather alone with Russia, their new ally.
Except our government loves to sabotage the EU into buying our weapons, growing their dependence on our war machine. The fuckers are on track for a $1.01T budget for 2026 and we just accept it.
Divide and conquer is our favorite foreign policy.
Good. Good. The plan is working.
If being ‘consequential’ means adopting the US style of transactional imperialism, I’ll pass.
We are already an economic superpower. We just need to build a proper European defense union.
‘Inconsequential’ sounds like a desirable evaluation from this administration.
Better their focus is elsewhere while Europe rebuilds supply chains and sorts out its own defence.
Yes, a wealthy market of 500 million people willingly consuming the services and products of the US is not inconsequential. The US doesn’t see Europe as a geo-political power, and the Europeans don’t either, to be fair, but the EU has been a dumping ground for the US service industry. See how Apple immediately acquiesced with USB-C. The US only understands money. If the US wants to renege on security obligations, Europe should renege on the cultural ties that has them supporting US Inc.
Our leaders are silent. Unlike those in the USA who make a lot of noise, our leaders are working towards becoming independent of the US. That approach can be seen as a sign of weakness. To some extend it is, but it’s also simply good political work to try and keep relations good while actively moving away from US dependency.
Why are we listening to anything this gaggle of c*nts is saying?
Europe is weak, yeah cool why’s that exactly?
That’s right because we choose that after WW2 to calm everything the f*CK down and the US said “hey we’re all boys now, we’ve got this you guys chill cause you get a bit rowdy”
And now we reach the point where a bunch of compromised foreign assets are running the show and have decided to pull the rug.
But again it’s all good, Europe is already on the path and if the US wants to return to isolation it can.
That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard and not at all surprising coming out of the United States
Sadly, we are a colony.
Just to be clear, this is a pro NATO/Euroatlantic former US general saying Trump doesn’t care about Europe.
How is that supposed to be news? 🤦♂️
I believe they saw China inconsequential as well a while ago as economic power. Its funny how that changed.
