Why should they accept returns? Make up your mind before buying.
The law requires that purchases not made on person must have a 14 day return policy because you have not been able to see the product before buying.
That’s how it works. A lot of stores accept (unopened) returns that were bought in person at the store, but it’s not a legal requirement unlike the 14 days for online orders.
The basis is to ensure the consumer can return a thing if the thing they ordered online turned out to be something else entirely or false advertising. When buying at a store in person you’re able to look at the thing and see that yeah this looks like a legitimate iPhone or whatever.

“Non-defective goods bought from a store can be exchanged or returned as long as the vendor has an exchange and return policy that provides for this. The law does not obligate vendors to have an exchange and return policy; vendors are free to choose whether they give their customers this right or not.”
You have signed the contract, and it states clearly that no return is accepted
Other comments are correct. Here’s how it goes: [https://www.kkv.fi/en/consumer-affairs/products/right-to-return-and-exchange/](https://www.kkv.fi/en/consumer-affairs/products/right-to-return-and-exchange/)
They’re operating according to the law. From the [Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority’s website](https://www.kkv.fi/en/consumer-affairs/products/right-to-return-and-exchange/):
>Non-defective goods bought from a store can be exchanged or returned as long as the vendor has an exchange and return policy that provides for this. **The law does not obligate vendors to have an exchange and return policy; vendors are free to choose whether they give their customers this right or not.** Purchases made by means of distance selling, such as telesales and mail order, usually carry a 14-day cooling-off period, during which time the goods can be returned without giving any special reason.
Emphasis mine.
It’s kind of a trap for consumers who buy things online, get used to the withdrawal period, and then buy something in person, but that is the law. I hope Telia are willing to accommodate you!
That’s how it is. Even if you bought the item online and went to pick it up from the store, the mandatory 14-day return right would apply, but not if you purchased it from the store. The logic is that when purchasing from the store, you have had the possibility to acquaint yourself with the product, while in a remote purchase that was not possible.
I mean this is annoying given you didn’t open it but you’re not one of those nonstop return shoppers are you? I can’t fathom why anyone would buy a phone and keep it unopened for a week
Yeah, they do not even take it back when the sales person packed you the wrong one. Your job to notice, especially since they are of course wrapped in a box already. So yeah, in shops, make sure you get what you really want, not what the sales person may think you should want, or just grabbed by mistake.
