Europe is not realizing that Trump is 1000% more wacko than they think he is. Dude is letting criminals free, takes bribes, abduct people and kill civilians. His murdering rampage is just gearing up slowly. He just needs one or two incidents and then the mask will go off and he will order personal hits and start racketeering campaigns in the open.

“The alleged plan involves dumping trillions in US government debt owned by European states.
A rapid sell off would likely cause a crash in the value of the US dollar, create a liquidity criss across the banking system and cause a huge spike in borrowing costs. It would also lock the American financial sector into a paralysis more severe than the 2008 crisis.
A leading European economist told the WSJ described the plan as a potential financial whiplash that could hit the US harder than any external shock in modern history.”
That’s a bold strategy, though I would be very surprised if European leaders were to go through with it. To this point, they haven’t been bold enough to put Troops in Ukraine, and they haven’t been bold enough to fully make use of the Frozen Russian assets.

Can’t read the paywalled article but that headline sounds like complete bullshit.

As awful as it sounds, would it not be cheaper and make better financial sense to just bribe Trump.
It’s a shakedown after all is said and done.

Load of cobblers, the EU leaders don’t have the nuts to even contemplate this idea.

There doesn’t need to be a plan for this… As confidence and trust in the US fades there will be a natural interest to decouple from excess dependency on what was once a trusted ally. Since no one will want to be left holding the bag I could potentially imagine them working in concert… But even then it would be better to keep the process gradual and quiet.
… And they know Trump doesn’t really negotiate, he demands or threatens.
