A month ago, Komari shared the story of the tragic and heroic life of Serhii Yaniuk, call sign Achilles.
He joined the Armed Forces in 2022, leaving behind his wife and newborn son to defend Ukraine.
>”Disciplined, responsible, and driven by inner strength, he fought in Bakhmut and later near Soledar, always taking on the most dangerous missions: evacuations under fire, ammunition runs, and leading his group in the hardest moments. He was one of the most motivated fighters in the unit, inspiring others by example. In 2024, during our redeployment to the Zaporizhzhia sector, he again chose the most dangerous position, constantly struck by heavy aerial bombs. His determination helped the men hold the line.
>Late in 2024, he faced a devastating personal tragedy – the loss of his little son. After that, he barely left the positions, carrying his grief in silence. In 2025, during a massive assault, Serhii “Achilles” Yaniuk was killed by enemy drone strikes. He was only 27. He leaves behind the memory of an honest, fearless, and devoted warrior who fought for Ukraine until his final breath.”
Some of you asked how you can help his family. We, mods, were able to locate his mother and brother. They are in deep mourning and expect nothing, but your support would mean a great deal. If you wish to help them, donations can be sent to PayPal of Achilles’ commander, who will transfer funds directly to the family: [JaroslavC.rpu@gmail.com](mailto:JaroslavC.rpu@gmail.com)
