Must be fulfilling to go into work knowing you’re helping to deliver something as massive and infrastructurally significant as this!

Last June I took my car to travel Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden in three weeks. I spent two weeks in Norway and found this country’s nature exquisite. Naturally I took many ferries and undersea tunnels on the route.
While undersea tunnels were fine (quick, easy and no charges) but taking a ferry for a change of pace was also fun. So I’m kinda having a mixed feeling about this piece of news.

I had the pleasure of visiting the work site earlier this year, and I have to say its awe-inspiring to go down into the deeps. Its not too dark due to the work lights, except for where the drill is, that area was fairly dark. The electrical machinery (as opposed to diesel fueled) makes for a quieter tunnel and a far better air quality than I expected.

Last time I checked, this will also be the longest road tunnel in the world, undersea or not.
