      He is desperate. His main oil company lost 70% of profits which not only destroy his economy but removes the revenues needed to keep his mafia state bribe based system alive and loyal.

      His inflation rate is officially 8% but probably more like 15% in reality.

      He has run out of North Korean artillery shells and they no longer produce enough equipment to sustain more offensives.

      He is running out of manpower as well.

      He desperately needs a skirmish with NATO to sell defeat in Ukraine as an impossibility to fight against NATO.

      This is not about regular army. With US out of the picture because of Trump, he is hoping far-right win next elections in UK and France (only 2 Europe countries with nuclear weapons), so he can use nukes against Eastern Europe to scare Western Europe into submission. We need to counter by getting our own nukes in Germany and Poland asap.

      Just last week he was saying “we are never going to attack Europe” and I was worried.

      Now this and it makes me slightley less wary — always assume opposite of what Putin says.

      Putin thought Ukraine would fold like Crimea and Georgia. Now, at this late stage of the war, his only threat is nuclear weapons.

      This is because his military has been exposed as a paper bear. On top of that, their military has been bleeding for three years, and they are weak.

      The Black sea had one aircraft carrier and one missile cruiser. Both are either sunk or crippled. This bluster is because the war is actually starting to hurt Putin.

      He has been caught drafting blue-collar workers off the street and giving them a weeks training before sending them to the front. He has used North Korean troops and hired Indian troops. The Russians in eastern Ukraine are not experienced combat troops.

      When it has come to drones, Russia has always been a step behind Ukraine. Every time the Russians use a helicopter or jet, they get shot down, losing not only a jet that is no longer manufactured, but an experienced pilot.

      Ukraine downed two jets with sidewinders that were launched from boats.

      Ukraine floods the sky with decoys to get the expensive S400 missiles to launch, and then Flamingo cruise missiles slam into Russian refineries and munitions factories deep inside Russia.

      If Russia actually does go to war with Europe, be grateful that Ukraine has bled them almost dry before that war starts. Putin is like Monty Python’s black knight who has had both legs and one arm chopped off, and he is still threatening Europe.
