Added straight to the bills. They are not even hiding it anymore lol. So there is a machine that actually profits from this directly. But the end user bears the cost lol.

    > but £10.3bn will be used to strengthen the electricity transmission network

Good. We need to be investing there. There’s a lot of electricity in Scotland going to waste because we can’t transport it around the country.

Any excuse to put up the prices again. Thought this was paid by the ludicrous standing charges.

  4. Ffs the problem is we already paid for it, but they’ve paid the share holders of the ownership companies so much of that money there’s been nothing left to reinvest in the grid and make the improvements necessary to meet their ambitions.
The long and the short of it is, now we’re going to pay twice for it! This is direct result of selling off your infrastructure to foreign investment companies and doomed us all to this sort of thing for the rest of forever.

So, I had a quick look – bear in mind that I’m not business minded

Looks like the network companies are all managing to provide shareholder value (the shares go up) and are making millions (90 ish in at least one case) profit after tax.

So is that profit going to be funneled back in (if so, I’m not unhappy) or will it just sit making interest (in which case I’m unhappy).

I’m sure if they were putting their own cash back in it would be mentioned.

We do need a better network – but once again it seems like ‘privatise the profit, socialise the loss’ is the rule to follow.

Great to see more investment in infrastructure, desperately needed.
