Are they going to seize control of the companies that do that though, like it happened to Nexperia?
China offered low labor cost and huge industrial scale, what does France have to offer now? A glass of wine and a croissant?
And yet…they will tell especially to those in eastern part of Europe to not use chinese products because they will spy on EU or NATO.
Trust in EU economies is low since the illegal intervention by Dutch government and EU fundamentally not doing anything to mend the trust. If France wants to be serious about it, at least stop bending over backward to orange king and make it a positive step instead of a reactionary move toward the other side whenever Orang King spanks harder than normal.
He could advise the EU on fixing Europe’s horrible work visa systems maybe? Make it possible for international students to actually study in French Universities without having to learn the local language as a prerequisite? Betting on foreign generosity without improving the system is what got France and the EU under heavy USA influence in the first place.
nothing to see here, tomorrow redditors will say that “EU is economic powerhouse”
How naive
Were gona build our own fighter with blackjack and hookers, go away Germany we never needed you.
On a completely unrelated note, China I’ll suck your dick for – little bit of investment common Papi
I mean, sure, kudos to China for becoming an innovation powerhouse. But are we just gonna ignore that their advancement is based on decades of stolen IPs, on bypassing mountains of work, effort and resources that went into research and development?
WTF? The same problem as with russian gas. One day you will have to leave it…

Europe can keep wishing china will listen to them! China disagrees with European principles of banking and economy. Plus, what has been china in the past 30 years without intellectual property framework makes them obtain current knowledge from the west, and doesn’t make them to comply to share new research/findings/technology with them.
Europe first 👏👏👏
Its absolutely wild how much the West dropped the ball the last 30 years.
Why?
-Chinese
yeah right. they are just going to give you their hard earned know how
Western Europe has some of the most robust educational infrastructure of anywhere in the world. It is a shame it doesn’t seem to have anything else to incentivize putting those minds to work for Europe.
China has no intention whatsoever of throwing France or any other European nation a bone lol
They still talk about the century of humiliation
As a Taiwanese living in Europe, I can say Europe is definitely stuck in the past. Not surprised with this. Still many Europeans do not know they are lagging behind. And get surprised that Asian countries are more developed than they imagine after visiting Asia.
At the same time, I am annoyed with Macron telling Taiwan is irrelevant to Europe. SMH
it’s genuine pathetic what happened to europe at the hands of its political caste
A bit too late now. Russia and China have solidified their relationship. Also, how do you think to increase China’s trust whilst pushing for Belgium to take away Russian assets?
China PLEASEE

EU acting like an emerging market
“free trade” advocates after giving up all of their industries and ruining their economy
do some industrial policy, which was the defacto norm until recently, instead of chasing the cheapest goods and labor
most of western europe still has significantly higher birthrates than asia. they will struggle in 30 years due to the median age being over 55+ in all of the developed asian countries. you can get back industries if you are disciplined and start now
Want that to happen? Offer attractive immigration routes for high expertise personnel, and open the routes for Chinese companies to establish in the country. No one sells tech knowledge like that.
lol typical Macron
I do not see how democracies can stand up to systems like the ccp in China. The stability and long term planning without interruption (changing government), coupled with the tech we have today, how can we win? We only go back and forth every four to eight years. Meanwhile China, Russia, Middle East just go full throttle ahead.
It is a problem no ones is talking about.
That is a bit late isn’t it? Spain already beat France to it with the recent [**King visit**](https://www.chinadaily.com.cn/a/202511/13/WS6915465ca310d6866eb294b4.html). If China wants to invest anything in Europe it will put Spain at the higher priority.
And China values consistent, [**predictable**](https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/spanish-autos-pork-beijings-sights-with-pm-sanchez-china-2024-09-09/) [**long-term**](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/30/business/spain-china-investment.html) partnership. A double-face fork-tongued person like Macron is the last man it will trust.
Most of china’s technology has been stolen from western companies because they wanted to be in the large Chinese market.
>French leader urges its firms to transfer tech expertise
Bahahahahahahahah.
Lol, Manu. Unlike us, they aren’t crazy.
China should make any investment contingent on political reforms in Europe.
the west thought they were too good to manufacture goods and pushed that burden onto china. china took, developed, and built upon the opportunity. it will never provide the tools for anyone else to develop manufacturing-based economies. china may provide access, but you will never get their blueprints. now, no one knows how to make shit and they have lost the ability to be self-sufficient, no matter how necessary that may be to their future survival.
French sells a bag to Chinese for 10000 euros. China sells a laptop in europe for 500 euros. Who benefits more?
