Spain, Ireland, Slovenia and the Netherlands said Thursday they will withdraw from next year’s Eurovision Song Contest after organizers voted to allow Israel to participate, deepening a growing rift within the international broadcasting competition.
The announcements followed a meeting of the European Broadcasting Union, where several countries urged Israel’s exclusion over its conduct of the war in Gaza and allegations of interference in contest voting.
Spain’s public broadcaster said Israel’s inclusion was “no longer compatible” with its responsibilities, while Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS also cited ethical concerns. The decisions mark the latest upheaval for Eurovision, which has struggled for two years to shield the popular contest from geopolitical tensions surrounding the war.
There are fewer countries in the list than words in the headline.

Where and when will the trial of Netinyahu, the Israeli cabinet, IDF soldiers and the Hamas leaders take place for the war crimes they have committed?

The logic behind Russia ban is that multiple European countries threatened to boycott if they were not due to their aggressive invasion of Ukraine. We heard this over and over leading into the 2025 contest.
Now that multiple countries have actually boycotted on account of Israel’s brutal genocide… We’ll let’s grab the popcorn and see how some people try to continue to side with the non European country led by convicted war criminals.

I thought Eurovision aimed to be non-political.

So… Anyone else that is likely to withdraw?

Let’s hope some other countries join. Israel can’t be allowed to be invited to a big party fresh off a genocide. 20000 little children targetted and killed in punishment.
And I hope the Eurovision event itself , between protests and , puts all the focus right back onto Israel’s despicable crimes.

It’s time the world does this to all corrupt events.
The world should boycott the Olympics and Fifa events as well until the organizations fix their corruption

Mad they choose a murderous little hell hole in the Middle East whose leader has an international arrest warrant issued for war crimes over actual european countries.
