      A Reuters report says Russia has blocked access to Roblox in the country over concerns that it is “rife with inappropriate content that can negatively impact the spiritual and moral development of children.” That may not be entirely wrong, but the allegations themselves certainly are: The ban was prompted by what Russian media watchdog Roskomnadzor described as extremist content and “LGBT propaganda” being distributed on the platform, a position later confirmed by Russian state-owned news agency RIA Novosti.

      Isn’t Roblox rife with PDF’s? Hell even Roblox themselves agreed that they are a platform that PDF groups exploit. Hell I’m for banning Roblox in the west as well. As their COE is a peace of shit for ignoring the PDF problem.

      The fact that the world hasn’t banned Russia from all online gaming is a disgrace.

      Never thought I’d agree with something Russia would do but here we are.

      Different reasons though, it’s a grooming platform and basically social media for kids. Not a good idea.

      Ruzia blames lgbt in LITERALLY EVERYTHING. Broken roads, bad demographics, war and centillion other things

      it’s banned in my country too because it’s a good source for pedophiles

      Banning it for the LGBT+ content is bad, and being exposed to non-sexual LGBTQ+ content is actually good for minors. That all said, Roblox does have a major problem with actual pedophiles, and I frankly, think that this includes a lot of their actual staff, based on what I’ve read with the Schlep situation.

      From what I can tell, Roblox does have some cases of actual extremist violent content (as would be understood by most people, and not just what the Russian government considers extremism), seeing as Roblox spend more time policing use of the words like “poo” than content which is actually unsafe for minors. So, they made the right decision, but to quite a significant degree, for the wrong reason.
