Absolutely disgusting. Only lends credence to the accusation that their criticism of Israel is motivated by anti-Semitism, because they clearly have no problem with occupation by foreign powers and human rights violations.

(Looking forward to being bombarded by Moroccans who sound indistinguishable from Israelis defending occupation of Palestine)

Remember what I said yesterday about feeling proud of my country because of leaving Eurovision?

    Forget I said anything.

  3. sikanrong101 on

I would hope that this would also produce a morrocan declaration recognizing the waters surrounding the canary islands as soverign Spanish territory and leave it as a quid-pro-quo

Spain doing its best to virtue signal at every opportunity it gets about Israel and Palestine while not saying anything about Western Sahara, or funding the Turkish military, aka the country currently occupying an EU country lol congrats. Twitter ass country. Same with Eurovision, dropping because of Israel participating but where was everyone’s indignation when Azerbaijan was doing an ethnic cleansing of Armenians?

  5. LOOOOOOOOL!

That said I’d expect to see the same hypocrisy from my own moronic country.

So that region arabs vs arabs?

    I don’t understand the fuss.

As someone uninformed on the issue, what’s actually at stake in west Sahara and why does Spain have to weigh in?

  8. Jane_Doe_32 on

Does this imply something real beyond words? I say this because in the coming months, when Pedro Sanchez’s government falls apart, and the conservatives, whose opinion is diametrically opposed to this statement, win, everything will return to the status quo.

What a disappointment this Sánchez and then they will all cry about Palestine

I still, wonder what the hell Morocco found on Pedro’s hophone through Pegasus.

so is Spain finally no longer the de jure administering power over west Sahara?
They kinda messed up the whole situation by just „voluntarily“ leaving the territory.

  12. Morocco has done a good job over the last years in getting a lot of international support for their control over the Western Sahara. Big achievement for them

  13. Strange how they use the correct date format in the title but the text of the declaration uses the American date format.

you were doing great by supporting palestine, but now you started to shatter, spain.

Fuck our government in particular, sellouts and hypocrites

Disappointing from Spain 👎 The Sahrawi people’s fate has been sealed into living in refugee camps or in oppression by the Moroccan state after they went from being colonized by Spain to being in the mercy of the hungry neoliberal monarchy that wants their natural resources.

  17. polaris183 on

Just as an aside – why is “may God assist Him” at the end of the title of the Moroccan king? How long has that been going on for, and is it popular to say amongst people in Morocco?

  18. FuckTheTile on

Doesn’t the Western Sahara still have lively slave trade?

  19. Heretakemybearslap on

Sanchez looks like a guy who genuely hates and sabotages his own country.

  20. Lazy-Common4741 on

I feel like people here are totally overreacting. Western Sahara’s chance of getting sovereignty was over long ago. It has basically no momentum. Morocco is increasingly co-operating with Europe and this will bring stability an important border region for Europe.

God cannot assist the Spanish minister, only the Muslim royal? /s

  22. Krek_Tavis on

Well, not like Spain has an history for rarely recognising any newly independent countries.
