I can’t even imagine the outcome if it was indeed nefarious and successful with taking out the leader of Ukraine.

I guess the no fly zone for drones was a suggestion.

It would be great if we’d take national defence at all seriously.

“In this setting, the spectacle of a state that spends lavishly to attract the world’s tech giants but baulks at the cost of defending the physical infrastructure that makes us rich becomes less a charming idiosyncrasy and more a structural absurdity.”

At least they didn’t put Polonium in the soup and sandwiches.

Correct if this is wrong, but there hasn’t been a single country (inc superpowers) that have been able to take down any of these drones, instead there are excuses such as not wanting debris to land in urban areas (even when they’re seen on coast and at sea), often they just close down their airports instead.

    This from just yesterday 2024.12.05:
PARIS (AP) – French officials are investigating an illegal drone overflight of the Atlantic coast base for France’s nuclear-armed submarines.

Several drones were detected Thursday night over the Île Longue base in Brittany, western France, but military authorities wouldn’t detail their number or type.

The base is the home port of France’s four nuclear ballistic missile submarines – Le Triomphant, Le Téméraire, Le Vigilant and Le Terrible.

Defense Minister Catherine Vautrin confirmed that troops at the base ‘intercepted’ an overflight, without detailing whether they fired shots, used electronic jamming or other means against the aerial intruders. It also wasn’t clear who was responsible.

    The mystery continues.
