By the Telegraph…whose readers seem upset a foreigner was on the screens. They think Question Time should just be Farage every week speaking unhindered and uninterrupted – like the previous 1200 episodes

Thats it, tharts convinced me, the BBC is biased because they let non white non English people into the audiance…

Edit: I should point out that this QT was billed as a “immigration special” and people are upset an asylum seeker (someone this topic is very much about) was on the show in the audiance.

  3. Less-Guest6036 on

To right! How dare a program that’s meant to be unbiased have someone that doesn’t agree with Farage on it!

  4. bloke wouldn’t want to go back to Iran because his 4 month old daughter won’t know Farsi?

She’s 4 month old lad she can learn when she returns with you.

Like the recent episode of *Panorama* that attracted US attention (and most shows that air on the BBC), *Question Time* is made by an independent production company

In this case, Mentorn media – [https://mentorn.tv/](https://mentorn.tv/)

    > In a post on X, Mr Yusuf said: “Incredibly, the BBC planted multiple illegal migrants in the audience of Question Time’s immigration special. One said his asylum application had been rejected in SIX countries and so he came to Britain by small boat.”

God, he’s gonna be so embarrassed when he finds out who was partially responsible for pulling us out of a scheme that gave us access to biometrics for all EU asylum seekers and allowed us to decline those who had already failed in applications in other EU countries.

Nigel is probably on the phone right now calling him a wally for wanting our asylum system to be dictated to by those bonkers EU bureaucrats.

Watched it last night. The word planted is doing a ridiculous amount of heavy lifting here. They were there. They were completely up front about it. Zia Yusuf was happy to tell them to their faces he’d deport them. I fail to see the issue with having immigrants in the audience? Oh no, they have an opinion. On a show about opinions. You can disregard it if you like but don’t be so fragile that you want to ignore that it exists when you want to appear tough

    > says Zia Yusuf

Ah, yes, nothing like making wild claims with zero evidence by the guy who chairs a party that is anti immigrant and anti BBC the day after another poor showing on the BBC.

    Totally trustworthy.

  9. It would seem to be a good idea to have people with experience of the system or indeed who didn’t like it in the audience to ask questions during an immigration special … wouldn’t it?

Meanwhile don’t mention ~~the war~~ ‘gas em’ Farage.

Back when everyone was playing Among Us we called this ‘Self Report’

  11. Machinegun_Funk on

Not sure about the use of the word “planted” here. There was a discussion about migration on the show and they invited people most directly effected by it to share their views. Seems pretty normal practice to me and not an endorsement of illegal migration.

  12. Says Zia Yusuf, to cover for coming off like a complete cunt during that episode.

In the “immigration special,” in Dover, with immigration one of the electorate’s highest concerns, the one who got the most positive response was the guy from the “open borders” party, and Reform will point the finger at anyone except themselves.

  13. OinkyDoinky13 on

More wonky any old bollocks from The Jellygraph; Britain’s worst newspaper.

  14. milkonyourmustache on

Its not really planting, its getting representation in there. What good is a discussion about a group without that group even there to speak up for themselves? If you’re afraid of a different opinion yours might not be all that strong.

Every single Terriblegraph article this year: *Hysterical shrieking noises*

The bbc are trying to run a hit job on reform at the moment. Even if you don’t like them you should find it troubling the bbc is doing this.

I think the guy who got rejected from Greece, Germany, and … Norway (?) Before coming to the uk was probably the worst offender though. What exactly was the point there?

Not the mention this guy read a script from his phone.

  17. Shawn_The_Sheep777 on

If the country is overrun with migrants as the Telegraph says every single day of the week then there obviously would be some in the audience. They can’t have it both ways.

  18. Wipedout89 on

So all the angry white men asking about migration every week is fine but they get one brown face on and they must be a plant

  19. The real bias, here, is the BBC constantly banging on about immigration.

  20. 99thLuftballon on

The rule never fails: if the headline is a passive sentence, it’s bullshit.

  21. rennarda on

I knew this was a story from the telegraph before I even looked

  22. andymaclean19 on

I watched the program. Nobody was pretending that these were audience members who happened to be migrants. It was clear that they had deliberately invited small boat migrants onto the show, Fiona even said ‘we have some migrants in the audience tonight’ before asking one to speak.

IMO they added to the discussion and I think it was brave of them to come on national TV and speak given the current climate. One of them listed a number of countries including Germany which had rejected his applications and now he is in Britain, making me wonder why all those other countries can reject people fast and have them leave but we can’t?

  23. Salt-Plankton436 on

Honestly I understand the BBC doing this. Puts some faces to the discussion and let’s some of them have their say. The first one just flat out didn’t answer the question as to why it is mostly men coming and why he didn’t bring his family. The second one did a bit better but basically said his daughter was born here so going back to Iran when it is safe in 5 years is bad, and that she won’t be learning his language? This is one of those things where nothing is perfect. Either you let them all in and all their family forever or you have daughters going to Iran having been born here. They didn’t give off rapist serial killer vibes like Reform would’ve hoped.

  24. ‘Planting’ always equals ‘somebody who has a different opinion to me’

Is the argument really that immigrants need to integrate, as long as they don’t have opinions on how the country is run?
