On the night of October 2nd, Vasyl Khomko — a Special Operations Forces serviceman and film director — was killed on the front line. He was initially listed as MIA, and later his death was confirmed. He was covering his group’s withdrawal and was killed in combat. He was 35

Khomko had been a volunteer since March 2022. He first served in the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade, where he spent two and a half years, and later joined the Special Operations Forces. Before the war, he worked in media, including as a director of the Ukrainian travel show “Orel i Reshka”, and produced advertising and commercial video projects in Ukraine and abroad.

His loved ones remember him as someone who, without hesitation, left a successful creative career for military service, believing it was the only right thing to do during the full-scale invasion.
