      Trump had to look at cue cards to count down from five two nights ago. I’d take anything he says with an ocean full of salt. It’s not that he just lies reflexively. It’s that he lies reflexively and is now clearly so adled by the effects of aging I’m surprised he can tell his underpants from a big Mac.

      I wouldn’t be surprised if Zelensky hasn’t read the peace plan, given that what we know of it and what he’s said in the past makes it unacceptable to him (conceding areas of Ukraine to Russia), and him not being part of the negotiation means it’s almost certainly a stitch up of some description

      Maybe will try to seek asylum from Ukraine corruption investigations, which miraculously don’t involve him despite bringing down his closest business associates and advisors, and him trying to close the instigation bureau down before it got to them

      Just call it a surrender document because that’s what it is. Drafted by Russians and Trump is pushing it because he desperately wants a real Peace Prize to go alongside the participation trophy that FIFA gave him because he can’t stand the thought that Obama has one.

      I really hope we ramp up our support of Ukraine even more. The protection of and our relationship with Europe is far more important than even our relationship with the Americans.

      Unless the EU want to put boots on the ground, this is pretty close to the best Ukraine can get. A poor deal will be the EU’s fault ultimately; they were slow to react initially after fattening up Russia’s economy for years – and it’s ridiculous that a war almost at their doorstep needs the US to resolve it.
