While I hate stupid letter man’s twitter, why is the EU commission trying to side-hustle ads on the platform? Ads on a political page no less, it just seems very unprofessional to me – especially considering that’s the exact thing they got got for in the article.

Just seems like the risk to reward ratio isnt there for the commission

    >Quoting [the commission’s post](https://x.com/EU_Commission/status/1996968219286904832) announcing the fine, X’s Bier accused the EC of logging into a “dormant ad account to take advantage of an exploit in our Ad Composer — to post a link that deceives users into thinking it’s a video and to artificially increase its reach.”

    >“As you may be aware, X believes everyone should have an equal voice on our platform,” [Bier wrote](https://x.com/nikitabier/status/1997450541275005041?s=46). “However, it seems you believe that the rules should not apply to your account.”

lol, I don’t like Musk, but what the EU is doing in internet space (chat control, id requirements, total control and surveillance, censorship) is a crime against human rights.

Just ban Twitter in the EU and have done with it. Nothing of worth will be lost.

So an idiot got a fine and then… cancelled something that was giving him money that would pay the fine? Shall we kneel before such business genius

Ban it, then shoot that gimp into space on one of his rockets, but without a space suit.

He’s mad so now he wants the EU to dissolve.

Soon enough he will be a trillionaire supposedly.

At some point we have to directly sue these billionaires for interfering with democratic processes

Americans love their trillionaires. They keep feeding them.

Musk: makes up a story about how the fine is about enforcing censorship (it’s not about that)

Also Musk: enforces censorship against the organization who stood up to him

funny thing that show the hypocrisy of the EU council .
They put a fine on X related to its ad system , and the EU used a loophole to promote a misleading ad.

Wishful thinking: “We’ll double the penalty each week until you pay.”

That X shuts off advertising on X is a good thing for EU, that shouldn’t use X at all. Hopefully that’s a wakeup call.

  17. Win / Win really.. the EU should stop buying ads on X to begin with.
