President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he held a very substantive meeting in Rome with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, *focusing on Ukraine’s diplomatic track and coordination with Italy on upcoming negotiations.*

Zelenskyy noted *Italy’s active role in advancing practical proposals:* “We appreciate Italy’s active role in generating practical ideas and defining steps to bring peace closer.” He said the sides discussed the work of Ukraine’s negotiating team and aligned their diplomatic efforts.

*The President also thanked Italy for its new package of energy assistance.* “This is exactly what will support Ukrainian families and communities that continue to endure constant Russian attacks,” *he said, adding that protecting civilian life remains a priority.*
