    > Evri has apologised and said its priority was to “handle every parcel with care”.

If it was you wouldn’t have these guys meant to make like 30 deliveries an hour or whatever

Three things to blame here, in ascending order of responsibility –

    1. Evri being a shitty company.

    2. The party those MPs represent pushing disaster hyper-capitalism since the 1980s.

    3. People wanting everything delivered at the earliest opportunity.

I’m no angel, I order shit online too, but this is why this occurs. Everyone wants uber-convenience and cannot be arsed to go to a shop, so delivery companies can’t cope, combined with their own corporate greed and unrealistic targets for workers.

Remember that Family Guy episode where Stewie and Brian go to the North Pole only to find it an industrial hellscape with deformed dying elves and Santa close to death. Then they try to do Santa’s job for him and end up killing a family in the first house? That’s basically where we’re at with consumerism now and either need to put up, shut up, or order less shit.

They don’t give a shit. Everyday I deal with calls from poor customers who the driver just posted it to the wrong house, didn’t read what the instructions are, threw the parcel on the floor, the lot.

It’s not hard to do your job. These companies need to be investigated more and if you can’t speak basic English or read you shouldn’t be hired.

My lovely Evri lady was replaced with a nightmare of a person. I now get what people mean, I was spoiled.

It’s nothing new, they’ve just taken the mantel from City Link. I used to work for them and at least three lads from the depot got told to sling their hook because they were found tossing out deliveries because they couldn’t be arsed

One didn’t even knock my door a few weeks ago. Just sent a picture of it on the pavement. By the time I saw the email it had been stolen.

I complained and they didn’t give a toss. Lucky the company resent it

Its about time that Evri was made responsible for their awful service. I hope they are held to account over their lies and exploitative practices.

I think companies that operate in the country and have customers in the country should be forced by law to have a domestic team with IELTS Level 5, C1 Advanced and above English skills answering phones.

    Same for delivery drivers.

As it stand Evri are impossible to get through to speak to real people on the phone to fix issues. This means poor drivers get away with stuff because no one is punishing them. And also they can employ delivery drivers with terrible English who can’t read a address or map.

  9. Ours delivers to the hedge in the next street over. Photos are carefully framed so nothing but the parcel is visible but clearly inside the vehicle from the lighting. Thanks for the care you evidently take with my parcels Evri.

I had a really lovely lady as my Evri driver. Respectful of your items, property and had common sense. Unfortunately she left and the replacement I got is a giant douchebag. He once jumped over my fence and in to my back garden. I have multiple CCTV cameras but he doesn’t give a shit. Complain to Evri and they don’t give a shit either. I hate Evri. They are anxiety inducing. Shame on any company that uses them

My two most recent experiences with Evri.

    1. They delivered my parcel to a random house 6 doors up. I asked them why they had done that and whether that was the address on the package and was basically told to F.O. I never got the parcel and the seller refused to refund me because Evri sent a photo of not-me grinning ear to ear with my parcel. “Delivered mate. Soz.”

I have no idea how any of that is legal but it cost me £50.

    2. Last week Evri delivered my parcel over my garden fence in to a puddle between my bins and took a pic of my fence. The parcel would easily have fit.. through the letter box on the front door.

    I have no words.

Well I do but let’s not do that.

Going by what two lads I know, in my local gym, I now know why, or at least have a good guess why that despite two parcels arriving at the delivery depot ready to go out for delivery, didn’t actually get delivered or seen again thereaftet. High chance they become what the lads were discussing last about what ‘perks of the job’ they got the recently.

  13. ASloppyTurd on

It is easier and cheaper for them to just chuck a parcel wherever than to come back the next day.

It’s odd. Robert, my Evri dude, cares. My Evri parcels get delivered and if there’s an issue he calls or messages me. RoyalMail? UPS? Those scumbags couldn’t care less. Two days in a row I got notification they were going to deliver then late afternoon – “Sorry, we missed you” whilst I’m sat doing nothing but waiting for them. Now I have to collect my UPS parcel from the depot and I had to get my Tracked 24 parcel (due Tuesday) delivered to my local Post Office. I want my time back – there’s plenty I could have been doing instead!

Drivers should be licensed and it should be a crime to mishandle post. Would at least weed out most of the nonsense. Have them wear body cams for all I care. It’s absolutely disgraceful how many times this happens and the country just shrugs as if it’s normal.

  16. cashmerescorpio on

Evri are a terrible company. They used to be Hermes and were so terrible that they had to rebrand to trick people into still using them. Why they just didn’t deliver a better service I’ll never know. Anytime I order something online and I see they’re delivering it I get scared. The “We have your package” email feels like a threat.

  17. ilikepizza2much on

Evri truly is the worst. After 4 months, I’m still waiting on a valuable package they misplaced.

  18. Nothing_F4ce on

    Evri doesn’t care.
They will dump your package anywhere and give no response.

My address is slightly ambiguous from time to time delivery drivers get it wrong and deliver in the street over.

This has happened many times with EVRI even after I put in an official complaint.

It happened once with DHL and from the picture and location I couldn’t figure out which neighbour took it. They immediately escalated and got me to talk with the depot manager. The driver went to get it from where he left it and delivered it to me all in less than 2 hours.

Maybe EVRI is cheaper but it’s cheap for a reason.
Do not use EVRI to send anything valuable and that you can’t easily replace.

  19. Sea-Outcome-6053 on

From what I’ve read in other articles about similar issues multiple times, Evri is the cheapest delivery service for merchants and well most merchants are going to go with the cheapest but unfortunately and very clearly the price reflects the quality of the service and the service is absolutely horrendous. I’ve had issues with Evri too many times to count at this point and complained about it then after 3 emails the “customer service: suddenly goes silent. They’re an absolute joke. It’s so bad the delivery fee shouldn’t exist. Merchants should just give you free delivery if they choose to use Rvri as theor carrier since you’re never actually guaranteed to get your package ffs. Its not just christmas this happens… IT’S ALL YEAR ROUND!

Man I fricking love my Evri delivery guy, nicest bloke ever. Same person every time and always does a great job. He’s old though so when he packs it in it sounds like service is going down hill.

  21. _Taggerung_ on

Good, I posted a lovely suit on vinted to a nice gentleman and I’m fairly sure the parcel was stolen by an Evri driver as it looked more expensive than it was. Fortunately we both got compensated but Vinted parcels are easy for thefts since they know that both parties automatically get their money.
