      Spoiler: it is not about the German-Polish border, but the Polish borders with Belarus and Russia.

      Why should only we strain our budget for our security when we are a part of NATO and EU? Crossing our borders means crossing NATO and EU borders.

      The US has 10K troops there at any one time, with various units rotating. The UK also has both troops and aircraft rotating in and out.
      Since that is going to be the next hot spot, it makes sense that more NATO countries establish bases and train with Polish forces and other NATO allies.

      Will it mean that Polish-German border crossing will be now free to cross again? As we want to fortify border with Belarus it means that the reason for it to exist in first place should be now gone, right?

      Not to mention that resources such as use of both soldiers and border patrol people is better to utilize there, rather than on Polish-German border.

      What could go wrong. The same Germany that started the immigration crisis, the same Germany that has been dumping migrants into Poland. Now they will help fortify the border with Belarus…

      They are expecting Poland to take hits for Germany

      There should be German troops pre positioned in Poland on day 1 , not sitting in Germany

      I added this post because I think it’s interesting. I expected comments where we’d be giving each other a high five, talking about jointly defending the EU’s border.

      Instead, I’m reading the comments and, frankly, I’m ashamed of some of those coming from Poland. When Germany wants to help – it’s bad. When they don’t help – that’s also bad.

      People, the war ended 80 years ago and you’re still living in the past. You’re so stuck in it that you’re forgetting about the real threats facing Poland and the entire EU – from the east, Russia; from the west, the USA.

      The Russians are playing us perfectly. Instead of uniting in the face of a common threat, we’ll end up arguing among ourselves and fueling mutual hostility – AND THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THEY’RE WAITING FOR

      On my behalf, I apologize for the stupidity of some of my compatriots, and I thank the EU countries and Germany that are helping us protect these borders.
