Still holds up as a great show. I was always impressed by Barry’s Dublin accent and quite fancied Alison.

I wasn’t even alive when it was broadcast first, but saw it first over the pandemic.Â
It holds up quite well and the storyline is good. Barry’s thing with the TY school child however provably wouldn’t have gotten aired today. Was it commented on when it first aired?
As someone who is partial to the odd fag on a night out, I wouldn’t mind having a few pubs where you could smoke inside (especially this time of year).

Haven’t watched it since it aired but Just flicking through the episode its a great time capsule of a show. All the footage of wandering through Dublin streets to see how it was back then and how its changed to now. Even just the footage of Raymond lighting up a cig in the pub.

The show really captured a moment of a changing Dublin and Ireland.
I think the actress who played Alison is the directors wife and played a similar role in his film Once as Glen Hansards ex girlfriend.
