      The details are shocking and the evil this guy showed to his daughter and wife means I hope he suffers very day in prison

      Mohammed Al Shaker Al Tamimi has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering his eight-year-old daughter in New Ross, County Wexford and attempting to kill the child’s mother. Victim impact evidence was given in the Central Criminal Court today. 

      *Surprising detail:* reports note that his sentence will not run concurrently with any other sentences

      This is wholly appropriate in this case. You almost never see it in Ireland. You’d nearly forget anything other than concurrent sentences were even possible here. Hopefully it sets a precedent. A horrendous crime, I hope the victim can find some peace.

      A convicted attempted rapist with Kuwaiti citizenship attempted to claim asylum here, fleeing from *the UK* and then this man who we know has a history of violence against women, murders his daughter who is an Irish citizen and who our state failed to protect.

      Look, I’m not anti immigration, I think we need immigration frankly and borders are a net negative, but how did this even get to the point of tragedy? Like so many failures here. That poor child, rest in peace. Murdered for not hugging your rapist dad when he demanded it and he smiled while he did it.

      Can’t imagine what that poor woman is going through,  I hope she has as much help and support as she needs from her family and the community. 

      What an utter scumbag piece of shit that guy is.

      I regret reading the article because the details of the attack are so grim. That poor little girl.
      Her mother having to watch in despair is utterly heartbreaking.
      Words cannot express what an evil, abhorrent piece of garage that he is.

      All that being said, given his prior conviction, the state failed to protect his wife and daughter. He had no right to be there.
