help enough against the current attack so they never need to worry about a future attack ever again

how? we don’t have an EU Army. I don’t see how we can split such burden between states with out major political problems.

I’m very sceptical we’ll actually get a ceasefire in the short-term since Putin will likely stick to his maximalist war aims

  4. Great plan, but how they are going to force putin to accept it?

  5. No_Football_9232 on

I’m skeptical about this, because if they were so willing, why aren’t they already there? What’s going to change just because it’s some unknown time in the future?

Once again Europe unites in demanding that the US take the lead and do the work.

    > A United States-led mechanism to monitor and verify a ceasefire.

    > “The US will be the backstop and provide intelligence, air support capabilities that nobody else can,” the source told Euronews, noting the main centre of operations will be the Ukrainian army backed by the multinational force of the “Coalition of the Willing”.

    >A legally binding commitment, subject to national procedures, to take measures to restore peace and security in the case of a future armed attack. These measures may include armed force, intelligence and logistical assistance, economic and diplomatic actions.

Finally! It only took four years.

  8. Yesterday handsome men Lavrov said again that they still don’t like that Finland and Sweden got into NATO, and said that they (ruzzians) still stand by their demands to roll NATO back to 99′ borders (Poland, Hungary and Czech rep.and Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia in 04′). Are we really believing anybody there is gonna even give a single thought to the agreement that put our soldiers on Ukraine soil?

    I don’t.

This shit is a theatre for one person and one person only, orange monkey. We truly believe that if ruzzia rejects X number of peace deals, he is finally going to apply some pressure.

    I don’t.

    It’s sickening at this point.

  9. Yeah, I don’t trust our leaders to do more than sending second hand weapons when Russia attacks again.

Continuing to rely on the yanks for everything that is happening in our own backyard. It’s just pathetic.

Honestly we should just put troops in Ukraine now, not in some nebulous future where the US actually cares to do that.

If Russia could argue that it’s ok for NK to have troops fighting in the war in Kursk because it was just defensive, we can argue the exact same thing for having troops fighting for Ukraine in Ukraine.

I’m not suggesting we commit a huge force and take back Crimea (or anything really). But even a small force + a lot of indirect fire support would likely make any Russian further advance impossible, and would actually force Putin and his friend in the US to actually commit to a cease fire / peace treaty.

And I know there will be the usual stooges coming out to tell me that if I want to go fight for Ukraine I should volunteer and they won’t do it etc, etc. Sadly, that’s not how the world works and those opinions are either extremely naive or straight up russian shilling.

I sure hope we are committing to more than we are doing today. Don’t see how Ukraine will trust us, looking at current performance.

Freggin’ give Ukraine what they need today or get fucked once Russia comes back after rebuilding.

Disgusting to see, in real time, our so called leaders, a bunch of soy boy p*ssies, giving an aggressor the win.
Now they give Ukraine the same shitty deal they were given in the 90’s, even shittier actually, seeing they have to give up their own land in the process.

Ukraine should use the pause to develop nukes.

What a sick joke the UN is, the EU is, NATO is and not least USA, shame on all.
