      I appreciate that there are a lot of women working in the system, but the frequency of these stories looks terrible on the prison service.

      At this point someone should launch a dating app called Prison, it seems to be working very well for some.

      In my Forensic Psychology course, out of about  90 cohorts only 5 were guys.  The other sub-disciplines seemed a lot more balanced.

      I’ve often wondered whether UK society would be better off reverting back to the community/family-centred punitive system  of what was once called éraic fine/galanas/weregild (the entire family or community of the perp are named & shamed then to give up land or money & business interests or their children as reparations) instead of incarceration of an individual. 

      Because the prison complex seems like it’s not working, entrenches criminality,
      causes atomisation, and is only for systemic profit/exploitation by government or contractors. The criminals aren’t remorseful or hurting, and the screws care even less clearly.

      I think someone should explain to female prison officers that they are interpreting the word screw wrong surely its in the training manual

      Need to comment on this:

      People are forgetting the countless women who work in this profession who do operate with integrity. The criminal justice system is massive, these cases amount for an insignificant minority. Alone there are around 25,000 prison officers, over half are females. Each year around 0.5% (60) cases of 12000 get done for this behaviour. So at face value people may see a case each week, as even 0.5% will show amount to more than a case a week. But the entire force of females is MASSIVELY more than this.

      I’m a woman who had worked with male offenders for years.

      A lot of these men will 100% turn up the charm because they think it will give them an easier life or they’ll be able to get favours from you.

      Sometimes this will be all women in the service, a lot of the time they will single out 1 woman for ‘special manipulation treatment’.

      With men who abuse women – rapists, dv offenders etc. They do believe that their ‘smooth talking’ will absolutely dazzle you because that’s the only way they know to interact with women.

      Then you have the ones who are simply bored and get together to use as a point scoring challenge.

      From a psychological point of view it is actually really fascinating.

      Could you argue that she raped him? As an officer, she has a lot of power over him, and he literally can’t leave

      I really want to not be a cynic but the amount of attractive prison guards seems to be on the rise, as if people are getting a job to be around the type of people they’d fancy.

      Not saying this is true, not saying women can only swoon over men but there’s always a few nutcases that are in love with serial killers and whatnot.

      I dunno, I hope to be wrong.

      She’s legitimately beautiful, I can’t fathom why she would risk her career for someone like that when she could choose anyone she likes

      I’m sorry, I don’t want to be that bloke but why are all these women absolute smoke shows? I don’t think I have seen one below an 8.

      I don’t think it’s the relationship that is the problem.. it is the breaking the rules that is the problem. People are free to form relationships wherever they want, and they will anyway – it’s part of human nature – but it is the breaking the rules and corruption that leads out of it that is the bad thing.
