This headline has been around (at least in France) since the 1960s, maybe earlier, much like declarations that US dollar will be dead within the year.

What should EU do when our old allied are deteriorating and completely loosing their swing in the world..
I trust and hope that we still share a common view of how the world should be run, but It seems like the US is fundamentally slipping at the moment.
They evidently can’t even stand up to the russians anymore, which is quite frankly a problem for the future corporation between us.

This must be the best argument y’all have for keeping us in NATO because it’s all I hear from this sub.

  4. the reality is that europe is losing control of its own land

We are undergoing immense internal strife and have numerous domestic problems. It is becoming increasingly difficult for us to assert ourselves abroad. If we don’t get our debt and deficit under control within the next few decades, we will enter a debt crisis and really be screwed then, at which point no amount of spending cuts or tax increases would be enough to stop it’s by then uncontrollable growth.

Facts, that’s why I’m set on immigration to Australia, Norway or Germany. Leaning towards Germany since I hear the job sector there is improving. Could be very wrong though on that info

Good. It needs to be knocked down a peg to be more equal with everyone else.

Actually, the main issue of the USA is its dependency on growth.
The American economic and political system relies heavily on continuous growth. Public debt, financial markets, social cohesion, and global influence are all easier to sustain as long as the economy keeps expanding. If growth were to slow down significantly or stop, many underlying imbalances would become much harder to manage.

Money it’s a crime! Everyone loves Pink Floyd…. But did they actually listen what was being said beyond their musical excellence?

The United States isn’t losing control of the world. US have already lost it. This is the result of losing the systemic war with China. Therefore, they are salvaging what they can and retreating to their own hemisphere.
Europe must fend for itself. The time of Chinese hegemony is approaching

The US can’t maintain absolute benevolent hegemony over the world forever, and Trump can read the writing on the wall and has just gone all in on the multipolar world order.

I’m a big supporter of Europe and don’t approve of much of Trump’s hostility towards it, but he is right about a lot of what he says about Europe.

Europeans have grown too comfortable. They’ve become trapped in a liberal end of history mindset, where all of their focus is on feeling happy and social welfare spending. That sort of stuff is great, until a hostile foreign power with a massive technological superiority brings their gunboats to your shore and want to take what you have. What Europe did to the world over the past few centuries has not been forgotten, and those people that were subjugated will lose no sleep when it happens to you.

Europe is weak. Your leaders are divided and incompetent. You’re falling massively behind in the AI race and are incapable of competing with the US or China technologically. You’ve neglected military spending for decades and lack the political will to exercise power. You’ve opened your doors to other civilizations to come and colonize you due to faith in flawed social theories. Trump treats Europe as vassals, because for all intents and purposes you are.

Well, that’s kind of the point of isolationist policies. Trump isn’t interested in building long-term partnerships, it is always quid pro quo “what can you do for me?”

The US was in control? I thought we were an autonomous collective.

Who gives a shit and how is this relevant to Europe?

The reality is that the WEF, brics nations, along with Israel. Are waging unrestricted warfare toward the US, Western nations, and the petrodollar. Utilising mass immigration, and fomenting political division by astroturfing extreme views. All while political leaders betray the West with their self righteous, and ever increasingly authoritarian and dystopian measures of control and surveillance.
