Just waiting for the first post to tell why they can’t do it. Usually these posts get those.

Would but can’t. Last time I asked my doc about that she had a look at the list of prescription medications I’m on and went “The computer says nnooo..” Which really sucks because my blood type is O positive, second only to O negative in emergency blood transfusions.

I tip my hat to everyone that does it in any case.

I wish I could, but they won’t take my tainted British blood

I tried, but they asked really weird questions. Like whos blood is this and why it is in a plastic bag?

Damn where do you get all that after donating? I have always had just a cookie and a glass of juice.

Wish I could but they ban 90’s born Brits. In UK I did it regularly

This post reminded me that I can donate again since it’s been 4 months since my last donation. Will do so after Christmas, thanks!

    8. I have donated 5 times, but it’s been a while since last time, I have been lazy and usually go with my brother’s who lack time for that :/

I tried 3 separate times. No one could find my veins so I’ve given up.

      Yes!

I have done it 30 times. Now sadly it is up to you rest for at least a while.

After giving birth I have suffered from iron deficiency and iron absorbtion issues. So I need all my blood for myself.

    11. I’ll give my blood as soon as they either pay me or stop profiteering so much off it.

I wish I could. When I lived in Oulu, I literally donated as often as I could legally. I had a calendar event reminding me every 61 days. I’ve always disliked needles and blood, but I fought through it each time somehow.

I now live in Lapland and it’s just not possible. They refuse to accept my buckets of blood at the medical centre.

My iron doesnt regenerate fast enough esp. with my stupid stomach acid reducing meds that I started this year and my reflux hates any iron supplements. ☹️ I have a feeling I donated my last time this year, as the hemoglobin was so low they almost sent me away. Hoping to try next year again. I have been trying to donate 1-2x year (2 was deemed a bad idea), so this post makes me sad. 😞

I’ve donated 29 times so far in the past 9 years. I’ve got O- blood so I feel obligated to do so. A nurse once joked that I could do it for a selfish reason too because the more I donate the more blood I have in an emergency lol.

I try to donate as often as I can, but I’ve recently started getting tattoos which has slowed down my pace a bit but not even with that I can donate almost 3 times a year. The tattoo thing has made me feel a bit selfish. Stopping myself from donating an important blood type due to aesthetic reasons. But I try to time my donations so that I get a tattoo, wait the 4 months, donate blood, get a tattoo, repeat.

I loved their street AD campaign with billboards that just say “Luovuta” wich can be translated as give up.
Driving down one of the main roads of my home city just had a continious line of give up, give up, give up.
I donate as often as i can and every one who can should too.
