Pokrovsk on August 19–20, 2025. The author of these photos, [Viacheslav Ratynskyi](https://www.instagram.com/slavaratynski/?hl=en) says that the military told him at the time that this was probably the last chance to visit there relatively safely.

Viacheslav shared his memories of the city:

“I lived in Pokrovsk for a whole month in the spring of 2023. When you live in a city for a month, it already starts to mean something to you. We lived in the Druzhba hotel, I woke up and fell asleep with the thought that a ballistic missile would hit the roof somewhere near my room. And so it happened, but in August of that year. And I came to shoot this picture. Then two missiles hit the hotel, and the third hit the high-rise building with the Corleone pizzeria, where we were having breakfast.

When I had time, I walked a lot along Pokrovsk: from the train station to the Jubilee Park, then along the highway to the private sector and back to the center.

On that business trip, I forgot my razor. At the market, I bought a small electric razor, very nice and high-quality. I use it at least once a week and remember that I bought it in Pokrovsk.
