dutch dude here: mine were vikings (from an infamous viking family) <– very proud of them too.

Absolutely sublime metalworking.
It blows my mind that the goldsmith could create something so detailed and perfect with just the unaided eye. I can’t imagine working at this scale without at least a magnifying visor if not a microscope.
Some of my favorite metalworking books are on Scythian goldsmithing and those pieces are just staggeringly beautiful.
