What’s going on here? Apart from being fairly dislikable and super seedy, what’s he actually done?

You can’t abuse your client power to perv over junior people who have to meet you to do their jobs. That would be enough. I haven’t heard anything yet that means the guy has to be totally cancelled. But I’ve heard enough to justify why no organisation wants to work with him. They have to protect their employees from harassment.

  3. Why is it that we rely on newspapers and journalists to do the job of the police?

So telegraph will investigate David Walliams but ignore allegations of Boris Johnson or Nigel Farage?? How impartial(!)

Will be interesting to see what comes out. Was a Reddit thread last week about celebs that give off villain vibes and his name came up a lot. Some of the comments gave very strong Jimmy Saville vibes.

Another celeb being wrongly accused or a genuine wrong’un?

Funny how when one institution finally makes a decision on something like this, the rest suddenly discover their courage and fall into line.

As a guy that grew up reading Roald Dahl and now a parent, I never understood the appeal of Williams’books. Seemed to try to have the Dahl craziness but never the quality stories.

I have a couple of friends who work at HarperCollins. These accusations have been around for years, with senior members of staff trying to silence victims because he’s a prolific writer and makes them a lot of money. His behaviour has never improved, but I also don’t know if his claim that he was never informed of the allegations against him is true.

What is important is that the victims have quite literally put their careers on the line to make sure this behaviour is called out and doesn’t happen to others, so I’d expect other organisations to take note, even if no criminal charges are brought.

I think we are only just scratching the surface on this one.. surely a legal investigation will start

I’m only surprised it took so long for stories about him to start surfacing.
