It’s a very shallow and pointless article. One could find a similar article about the winter of 2023 or 2024, with the only difference that uncertainity of 2023 was about the military support Western countries hanged after liberation of Kherson and uncertainity of 2024 was about how Trump’s approach to the support of Ukraine will differ form Biden’s approach.
Current cycle of Russia-Ukraine war lasts just three weeks less than German-Soviet war of 1941-1945. So obviously Ukrainians feel fatique and uncertainity. And obviously Ukrainians want peace. But the article misses the most important point: Russians don’t want peace. There’s no concession that would end the war, no territory Ukraine could cede so Russians are finally say ‘We’re done, we have no claims to Ukraine anymore”. The only option to stop the war is to make Russians suffer to the point they can’t continue, and we’re only half-way there.
ah-ya, exhausting people who are used to russian aggression over centuries and yet still exist, speaks for itself. Trump outlasting learned persistence based in deep cultural difference because of such history – unlikely.
If you look closely the uncertainty is actually on US side, you will see hasty attempts to set stuff in stone knowing it might fall apart when the written eulogies ink is dry.
