‘Sluk’ means ‘drain’. So there’s a drain nearby.
Er det en elv rett under eller en bekk? “Sluk” er dit vann gรฅr for sรฅ รฅ bli flyttet til et annet sted (som kloak) ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ. Men ellers vet jeg ikke hva det er, ren gjetning ๐
They are meant to show where the closest drain (*sluk*) is – the distance in meters should be engraved on the little rectangle above the work *SLUK*. As far as I know the little hat was supposed to keep rainwater from making the plaque illegible.
You can still [get the same style markers](https://www.kraftex.no/gruppe/kumskilt) today (third row down), for drains and other water related infrastructure.
Seems like somewhere you would open a bottle and instructions how to drink it.
