Pre-warning the public for re-entry into the union. First Erasmus, then trade and then the full package deal.

I don’t really get what the end goal of this recently pro-EU rhetoric is from Labour figures.
The *focus groups* have clearly told them that Remainers are a significant and under-represented voter bloc, so Labour figures have been tempering their rhetoric on the EU. But when asked about rejoining they’ll return to insisting that Brexit is good and Brexit is great and it can’t be overturned. Because fundamentally they’re trying to appeal to both this bloc of Remainers, while also appealing to these pro-Brexit ‘hero voters’, so it results in them triangulating into a position which doesn’t really appeal to anyone.
Wesley’s clearly on the campaign trail though. Why else would the health secretary be making vague statements about how high taxes are.

Let’s get to the European target national debt/GDP of 60% before we even consider rejoining (the existing members should be making that a key condition of membership, even if they’ve chosen to conveniently forget about doing it themselves)

I do find it odd that rejoining the EU is seen as some kind of universal pamacea to our economic woes. The issues are deeper than Brexit in my opinion, they include our level of debt, low productivity and lack of affordable housing.
Also our tax burden is one of the lowest in the EU so rejoining won’t necessarily lead to lower taxes.
