I mean, I’d rather someone get rich *if* they’re actually helping children.
If they’re just exploiting the shit out of the system as a ‘get rich quick’ scheme, then yeah, fuck em.
But if they’re running it well, arranging lots of support and genuinely making a difference, then why not?
Are you only allowed to be rich if you’re a dick?

Says someone on £140,000 + pension & expenses. that puts you in the top 2% of earners in the UK.
Its the failure of Govt regulation Rachel, something that could be changed fairly easily & quickly, but I guess thats not what you want to hear.

She’s right. It really is ridiculous that we’re having taxi companies charging £80 *per mile* to transport SEND children to school, and we’re blaming the *children* for this rather than the taxi companies and the broader government environment which enabled this sort of rank profiteering. And we see this sort of shit across the government.
Government services have been sold off, but the government still has a duty to provide those services. So in the end the government end up renting back those services from privatised companies at exorbitant prices. In theory privatisation is meant to lead to competition which reduces prices, but in practice, for so many services, that simply has not happened. The theory is wrong. But because our political class are largely too terrified to ever question the private sector (because most of them want to move to a cushy private sector job when they’re done playing politics), they’d much rather question whether it’s the government’s duty to cover these services in the first place.
Children with special needs should not suffer because the government has failed to reign in profiteering companies.

De Souza has spent literally years actively campaigning for online age verification, despite it being dangerous quackery provided by very expensive profit making vendors.
She’s a bullshit artist, and the entire Office of the Children’s Commissioner an unaccountable quango that should have been scrapped a decade ago.
