Jesus I’d be delighted if we only spent 1600, I’d say 5k wouldn’t cover it

Consumerism is great all round tbf. Good for the environment and the kids in Bangladesh who need work.

Think I spent 400 euro on food and drink, 2-3 days worth of food, snacks, not including alcohol, now I’m cooking for 6 on Stephen’s day so It’s not all for us, but Jesus, I don’t know what you would need to be doing to support that spend full time

Went into Supervalu to pick up a basket of stuff. €90. OK it was a full basket and some nice stuff in there but jesus! There is no justification for some of the prices they are charging these days.

We were pleasantly surprised at how little we spent on Xmas food this year – less than 200. Then say we all spent 200 – 250 on gifts for people, 250×4 = 1,000, we got a new tree this year too which was 200, so.. 1,600 sounds like an awful lot but is about right for our household.

I only spent about €100. Doing my best to bring the average down!
